Welcome to the Smyrna United Methodist Church Web-Page. I am honored to be the pastor of this wonderful church. I have been in the ministry for 35 years serving United Methodist congregations in the Charleston District including Cherokee Place UMC, The Jamestown Charge and Goose Creek UMC. I retired in July of 2023 and was blessed to be appointed in my retirement to Smyrna in September of 2023. This is an active, thriving, growing church involved in many missions beyond the local church and many opportunities for serving our Lord through programs within the church. We have a choir that brings beautiful music enriching our worship experiences together, a special time for children in worship, fellowship groups for men and women, a weekly Bible Study Group, Lay Readers who assist in worship, an adult Sunday School Class and special services and fellowship opportunities for all ages throughout the church year. We would love to have you visit us for worship on any Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. and to have you become a part of the family.

We are becoming an Acts 2 Church. What is an Acts 2 Church?

Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:41-47
